    Screen Grabs from New Home

After forty years of flying from one airport, I've pulled up stakes and moved to new home, about 200 miles away. The airplane came too.

I've been hauling a GoPro with me as I slowly get used to the new airport and area. Here are a couple of screen grabs...

The airport is Twin Oaks, just south of Hillsboro, Oregon.

I hope the transition goes well. That’s a big change after so long in one area!

It's been interesting. The new airport's runway is almost exactly 3/4ths scale of my old one, and it's got a pretty good slope. Really means an updated sight picture as one rounds out to flare. Oh, and there are trees at the north end (with a notch cut through!) and a gully at the south end. People tell me the SOP at this field used to be take off to the south (downhill) and land to the north (uphill), but there's enough student traffic in the pattern now that that doesn't work.

    Here's a short video....

A BIG plus is that my new EAA chapter is just at the end of the same row that my airplane has!
