Travel up from O'hare
Hi from the UK to you lucky people going to Airventure. We are planning to come back next year as its along way across the pond.Logistically how have people travelled from O'hare to the show? We hired a car in 2023 but it was a bit of a waste of money as it sat in the university lot for 6 days. I can see that there are trains and busses that all seem to go via Milwaukee but they seem very slow and not very frequent. Other option is to fly via a connection to Appleton, but the EAA transport doens't start to the Monday. Will probably fly from LHR on the Friday before the show and travel up on the Saturday morning. Roughly how much is a cab from Appleton?
Any thoughts/experience welcome and have a great show.

Probably the easiest is to book a flight from O'Hare up to Appleton, Wisconsin (KATW). United and American have direct flights. From there, take the Airventure bus service that takes you directly to the event grounds (~45 min ride; $35 round trip). Bus Schedule
If you're staying at the University of Wisconsin dormitories, there are shuttles between there and the grounds all day. $100/week for unlimited rides. Details
All Airventure parking and transportation information is here.
