EAA's Ford Tri Motor Not Flying?
Typically during Airventure there are two Ford tri motors flying. The one owned by EAA and then the black and silver one with TAT on it. This year the blue/silver one owned by EAA is missing and not flying. Anyone know why?

AOG for parts. I believe it's a cracked wing spar

Right wing spar cracked.
Close to leading edge.
Mid wing.
Underside.
Skin started to buckle.
Good they found it on the ground.
Those wings have been repaired a couple of times.
Out of service for AV 2017
The other Tri-Motor purrs like a kitten.

Wow... I agree good thing they found it on the ground and not have something happen mid air. How many are left flying these days?

EAA's was back flying on Thursday giving rides all day. Was only down for the first few days. But it gave me a chance to fly on "Big Ford".

I talked to a guy in the dorms who had been volunteer working on the repair for either a week or 9 days when i talked to him. He looked absolutely exhausted. Kudos to all the folks involved!
