Deafhawk. I don't fly motorgliders much, they are not as common out here.I did go to Minden once to fly, read about the good lift there. I spent the better part of an hour in pretty continuous turbulence over the mountains. I didn't find much lift but sure gave my fillings a good checkout. Maybe some day I will get back there. I fly mostly out of Boulder, sometimes good lift and always pretty scenery. I go up mostly to have a relaxing flight, I am not that interesting in fighting turbulence to find lift like the real devotees do. I am usually coming down in early afternoon when they are going up. I have a medical and fly mostly powered planes, but enjoy gliders too. I often go out and have lunch at the airport and watch the gliders.
