Call the Detroit Airports District Office at 734-229-2900 and they'd be happy to give you both FAA interpretations and their opinions. I deal with the Chicago ADO. For those of you in other areas, your local ADO can be found at http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/...ional_offices/. If you have a disagreement with your airport manager, sit down and talk with him. If you can't come to agreement, give the ADO a call and get their opinion. I know of several airport managers who have been told by the FAA that their actions violate their grant assurances and the tenant is correct. Don't hesitate to get that FAA interpretation.
