Moving wood and fabric plane across country

Looking for any tips and advice on shipping wings and fuse a few 1000 miles. 28 foot once piece wing plus fuse. Im thinking a uhaul and lots of foam rubber padding and easy driving. Any tips would be appreciated. Lw

28' wing, do U-Hauls even come that big?

No, 26' is the max length at Ryder, Penske or U-Haul. Flat bed semi trailer? Would need a STOUT crate for each item I'm thinking?

Load the fuselage tail first on a trailer and then a rack to hold the wing flat overhead. Set the rack to have the trailing end tip flush at the trailer tail. Don't wrap or tarp the wing. I did this with an Aero Commander 680 wing, but had the forward almost at the front bumper of the truck. Mad for an interesting trip with all the gawkers.

Build a wood frame around the well supported/cradled fuse and wing. Then call Old Dominion to discuss LTL shipping rates. Then again, call OD first.

Hey! I am soon moving to another house with my family and I need help. Does anyone know a company that I could contact?

I recently moved to another state and I can say that it is really hard! Until I sorted all the things in boxes, I arranged everything, it took a long time. I thought I was going out of my mind. But it's good that I found out about a company that deals with moving, and they helped us throughout the rest of the process.

I came across an interesting article about State To State Moving Company, where I found about them. So I recommend ThreeMovers , they offer a variety of services including packing, moving, and even storage solutions, making them a one-stop-shop for all your moving needs. They prioritize efficiency and reliability, ensuring a smooth transition to your new home.

Jeffery: Going to be a bit tough for us to recommend someone, based on your particular location.....

I just moved a Rose Parrakeet from Texas to Connecticut in a 20' U-Haul box truck. 1800 miles, 12 states, 6 days, no issues.
