As I read the notice about Richard Wagners death, a bell rang, and I started checking. My current project is the rebuilding of a KitfoxII. I acquired the project after the aircraft was badly damaged in an accident. Essentially, I am building the aircraft from scratch. However, I checked the paperwork and the data plate on the original aircraft, and found that it was built by Richard Wagner. As it turns out, he apparently built the aircraft from a kit that had been donated to a local monastery. The monastery was then able to use the aircraft to raise money. Interesting also is the fact that I think my wife's cousin was a monk at this monastery about 1962. I am glad to be keeping at least some of the original aircraft intact, and hopefully resurrecting it in a new form.
