Happy Best book for sport piloting

Happy New Year everyone! I'm starting to work towards my sport pilot certificate and am wondering what is the best book to study from. Thanks for any info

Stick and Rudder. It won't help you get your certificate, but it'll make you a better pilot.

As a CFI all student pilots should have The Student Pilot’s Flight Manual by Kershner - mandatory reading IMO and the Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge by the FAA for starters.

Assuming you're going "airplane", Rod Machado's "Sport Pilot Handbook" is a pretty good all-around resource. For studying for your rating, I've used the Gleim Sport Pilot Course and have recommended that to students. As mentioned, you can find most everything you need on the FAA website under the training tab. I'd also recommend getting Advisory Circular AC-006B (Aviation Weather) as well as a copy of the AIM/FAR.
