    Getting Rid of Old Magazines

A question on another forum page reminded me of this. Many of us have stacks of old aviation magazines. We're loath to just throw them out, but with the advent of online archives, there's not a whole lot of reason to hang on to them.

About 25 years ago, one of our chapter members built wooden magazine holders. They were sized so you could built two from a single 4x8 sheet of plywood or particle board. With permission, he set them up at local high schools and kept them stocked with EAA'ers old magazines. They were pretty popular.

You can use the online archives to read an article I wrote.... "Racking Up Interest" in SPORT AVIATION magazine, June 2002, page 73.

One of the chapters I used to be active in, met at a small restaurant on an airport. We'd put all our old mags on a shelf at the front entrance with a sign that they were free to anyone.
