I put in a request for sponsorship from the EAA but maybe this will get some attention. My buddy over at GEP Drones has a request for some drones and is looking to provide them at cost. Only issue is...

So I'm looking into premium again. One thing that I noticed is being able to offload processing. Then I thought could I offload multipe instances of simulations to various local servers?
If I...
It's always been that way. I can't believe people are complaining about $100 edu SOLIDWORKS. You get a year of a $8,000 program for $100 that's a steal. Yea it sucks we lost full premium but edu...
Thanks for the link I'll look into them.
From what I've been able to gather I'll need a explosives manufacturing permit form TF E-Form 5400.13/5400.16
That allows me to manufacturer and store...
Me and a couple buddies are working on various designs for rockets. Mainly going to be small scale but one of my buddies is concerned because some of the materials could be used for bomb making. I...
I tried to post as I do have an account but it says I do not have permission. I guess I need to first purchase the newer version hopefully other people will speak up as I don't want to purchase...
I second that. FreeCad is closer to SOLIDWORKS than AutoCAD in my opinion. Also if you are dealing with objects only for 3d printing I'd recommend Blender. I really think SOLIDWORKS is shooting...
From the sound of it professional is our desktop version of SOLIDWORKS. We can still export STL and IGES. But the kick in the balls for me is the lack of simulation. That is what I need to improve...
So I have had it installed for a year and a half now but for some reason when I try I get a System Error "The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found. I've attempted to...
Alright that's promising. I'll double check my buddies trailer. We were already planning on bringing up lumber secure it so hopefully we bring enough.
Looking at picking up a project. Anyone know if it will fit on a 16' trailer? Wings and engine are off. Trying to figure out the logistics of hauling this thing. Any recommendations on loading/...
Good read! Looking forward to more.
My understanding of it and this could be wrong is that it like most edu programs gives you the latest and greatest. So it would expire at year's end then you would be given access to the 2021...
There was two licenses you should have entered when you installed. The edu and electrical did you register both? If you did I'd recommend full uninstall and reinstall.
Try going to options (gear at the top), Add-ins, maximize SolidWorks Add-ins, SOLIDWORKS CAM 2020 click the box on the left to run in this instance clack box on right to have it run during start up.
I'm pretty sure you can purchase any of the tests and take them with any version of SolidWorks ( Edu, standard, premium). The only one provided free would be CSWP. CSWA and CSWE would need to be...
Pretty sure it's just CSWP. Could be wrong, never looked into it.
It's in there in add-ons. Simulations boot as well but the latest version has a bug. Hold escape to clear all the messages and it'll work.
No HSM on this workstation. What took Solid Cam 3 toolpaths, multiple tools, re adjusting the wizard and toolpath order to recreate what I could do in MasterCAM in one with only a 1/4 endmill. This...
Which do you prefer? I learned off MasterCAM in college then discovered HSM and now I'm stumbling through SolidCam. I find that HSM is the most user friendly lots of options includes up to 5 axis and...
Yea it's pretty robust now my only issue is scale of provided models is off. So if you bing map to a physical run way turn it into an area and try to launch a plane off it it looks wayyy to big. So...
That sounds interesting mind telling us a little more about it or is it one of those things that can't really be disclosed?
Anyone else dabble in stk? I mainly use it for aircraft but its a very powerful tool if you look into it even for prototyping.
So I'm not as talented as most the designs I see on here but I have fun creating basically wind tunnel models and test them in flow sim. I figured I'd share some of my new ones (hopefully this is...
What are you trying to mate? It sounds weird but have you tried making the part through a different method to see if you get similar results or breaking the part into smaller parts if possible. If...
