Right there with you! Debating whether or not to enter first contest for the year right now and really torn.

Byron according to an earlier post from an EAA staffer they reportedly contacted 10 or 12 of the supposedly more active YE chapters, so about 1% of the 1000+ chapters.
And it shows.
This...
See this is backward, while there is literally next to no if any chance for actual abuse to occur on a YE flight, there IS an opportunity on a fly-in/fly-out, or at a chapter meeting or other event...
Don't Panic!
And there's the rub, want to go to OSH, must support the org, want to compete in IAC, must support the org, want to fly YE, must support the org.
The guys aren't the problem, the chapters aren't...
Just read Jack's letter and I am done with EAA.
Totally fails to acknowledge any actual comprehension of or sympathy for the real and substantial issues many expressed and is still basically...
So, 15% percent say it is OK, the other 85% say it needs to be changed in some way all the way to 18% saying no way no how - with the majority (53%) saying 'drastic' change is needed.
Anecdotal I...
Good thought Mark and I think you got the options right to capture useful info for HQ to evaluate, if they are interested.
Thanks for putting this up.

Sorry, you don't control content on the board - if EAA wants to censor that is their prerogative as owners of the site, you, not so much.
My objection is to the WHOLE THING so removing the SSN...
Just wanted to recognize how incredibly awesome this post is - those simulators are amazing. THIS is what EAA is about (or at least was about), and the Unified Flying Octogenarians in my chapter,...
It is the single best thing EAA has done in 25 years, by far and away. That is why this is angering so many of those of us who participate on one or more levels. I've worked events where 200+ kids...
At the end of the day apparently some people need to be reminded that EAA, and by definition all of their programs (IAC, Warbirds of America, YE, etc.,), it all exists FOR and BECAUSE OF us, our dues...
Same here. And for the apologists accusing those of us who have issues and concerns with this new requirement as either 'having something to hide' or being unrealistic and basically providing a...
Not submitting to this - no more YE flights for me. Off and on been doing it since the program started as either a pilot or ground support.
Happy to take airport kids up or anyone introduced via...
Flew a couple Young Eagles this weekend in the Yak. I had not flown kids for a while and not since acquiring the Yak earlier this year - I had forgotten how rewarding it can be, the smiles are...
Thanks, here's a few cockpit shots:

I closed last week on my first plane, a 1987 Yakovlev Yak-52. Fully aerobatic, 360 hp supercharged nine-cylinder radial, big paddle-bladed prop, thing pulls like a tractor.
Completed transition...
Interesting concept, I have toyed with a semi-scale T-28C running the Vedenyev M-14PF but did not go past conceptual design. The Trojan is a cool plane but not everyobody knows/agrees that, so...
Mark thanks for chiming in - the 7KCAB I am flying does have spades, can't imagine how bad it would be without them. Had a bad practice session today, forgot to set trim before I got into my figures...
Recently discovered photos of this beautiful little all-wood machine from Claude Piel and curious if anyone has experience with it?
Seems to be mostly French and European builds, also anyone have...
Thanks for the Morrisey Drill Wes, I recently gained access to a fun little 7KCAB Citabria and will add this to my practicing! At least, as much of it as I can safely get the Citabria to fly (the 8...
OEM's usually use a single/double prime on the AL part and a fiberglass layer over the CFRP, which is also sometimes primed.
AL to CFRP has the worst galvanic potential evaluated from a...
Wes,
I thought about whether or not to reply to this, and have decided to give it a go in the hopes that this can provide a learning opportunity for all, myself included.
First off, I am a bit...
The Panther is looking to be an impressive little plane, and is really attractive - it can also be built in several versions - I understand they are planning a 2-seater but I'd expect that is a way...
