Chuck Slusarczyk Passes
Legendary ultralight developer Chuck Slusarczyk died today (September 29). Chuck was an inaugural member of the EAA Ultralight Hall of Fame, and had a store of tremendous stories. His CGS Aviation was one of the first companies to strive for aircraft-like handling in ultralight aircraft. His music, and his infamous Muzzle Loader, will be missed.
Although maybe not the Muzzle Loader....

(Chuck is on the right)
Chuck and I were both fans of WWII flying songs. At a party in the 90s, we traded lyrics for the other guy's airplanes, to the tune of the old song, "Give me Operations". To my shame, I can't remember what Chuck sang about the Fly Baby.
But I do remember the lyrics I wrote for him....
Don't give me a CGS Hawk
It's got a Rotax, and I'd rather walk
It's ugly and slow
Like El Pollo Loco
Don't give me a CGS Hawk!
Give me operations, way out on some lowly atoll
For I'm too young to die
and I just want to go home!
Vaya con dios, el Pollo Loco....you've gone home.

Chuck was a true character and the world is a duller place without him. Godspeed Chuck!
