It's Engineer's Week!

Waaay back in the 80s, I worked in a group that was looking to give the US Navy the ability to shoot down satellites. Boeing had developed and tested an air-launched Antisatellite (ASAT) system. However, this was carried by an Air Force aircraft, and the Navy wanted a carrier-based delivery system.

Our design engineer had drawn the ASAT being carried by a Grumman F-14. But he was an Air Force guy at heart. He had the drawings, and decided to show a view of the ASAT being carried by a classic Boeing product....
