Our Chapter just paid yearly dues and insurance. We did not get the hangar keeper insurance. I have not been real involved in this before and this is the first I have heard of hangar keeper insurance. For our Chapter it would be a lot of money. We have no significant physical assets.
What is kept inside your hangar, who owns it, and what activities go on in there? Do you rent aircraft storage space to members or others? Hangar keepers insurance covers damage to aircraft and things stored there. If you are moving aircraft around, moving tables and chairs, or other things and ding an aircraft, the damage would be covered. I would not recommend allowing aircraft in the facility without hangar keepers insurance without a signed liability waiver on file.
