In the Jan issue of Sport Aviation on the last page the Advertisement for EAA Insurance managed by Falcon Insurance,, there is a picture of a Zenair with trailing link suspension on the nose.
Anybody know whose airplane that is and how to get ahold of him.
We want to build that but if he is willing to share it would save us many hours of ass scratching time.
A web search has not been successful.

That's Mark Phillips' nicely customized 701. He wrote about it in "What Our Members are Building/Restoring" in the October 2018 issue of EAA Sport Aviation, and then we did a full feature story on the airplane the following month. Neither piece has a ton of detail about the nose gear, but it is addressed. I've attached .PDFs of both for you.

There is a 12 minute video interview where Mark talks about his 701 and the influence of the golden age designs. It does includes some brief comments about his nose gear. I particularly like his hula girl attitude indicator. :)

I saw the ad and thought....Wow that’s a lot of oil canning in the wings. I wonder if that relaxes when he is on the ground? Sorry, doesn’t give me a warm fuzzy feeling.
