What ideas have chapters tried to promote visits by prospective members to their web sites? A local flying club used Google AdWords (now called Google Ads). Google searches on keyword phrases returned a club ad link at the top of the list of search results. The club was charged for each "click" on the ad link that the searcher used to go to the club's site. Google literally calls this the "Cost Per Click", or CPC. The club spent $60-100 per month during a membership drive, which was successful enough that they generated a membership waiting list.

Have chapters used Google Ads or a similar service? Did it work for you? Are there alternatives to Google Ads?

Google often mails out Adword credit letters when you create an account. Unfortunately they are close to a monopoly for internet advertising.
You could try holding a meeting where the topic is about aviation with a more wide spread interest, such as something historic. Then post a notice in local newspapers or TV & radio stations. Those are often free.
EAA can also supply you with mail labels for people in your area who aren’t chapter members.

If you have non-profit status, you can get a grant for google advertising by signing up for their "google for non-profits" program and making an application. I've done so for some other organizations.
