The ExtremeTix company is awful. I bought tickets, but when I go to print, the page is dim and I can't click anything. I can not reach anyone there either by phone or by submitting a form. And what is with all the clicking in boxes thing? Is it an actual business? They had no problem debiting my account though; that went off without a hitch.http://eaaforums.org/images/icons/angry.gif

Hello, ExtremeTix was actually bought out by ETix. When that transition process is complete (hopefully by the end of March), you should be able to print your tickets. If you have any further questions about this feel free to contact EAA's member services team at 1-800-564-6322. Thanks!

EAA seems to have wonderful times picking contractors who don't have their act in gear. This is almost as bad as the disaster of a background check guys that they used for the Young Eagles.

Concerning buying tickets...anyone heard the concert night and headliner this year. I have more family members coming if the 'music' is good. No one from our family attended last years Monday Concert or Oshkosh. Work schedules and vacation planning sometimes requires months in advance! Thank Lynn #49054

It's usually Monday for starting after the airshow and running for a couple of hours. They seem to have switched from washed-up rock bands to up-and-coming country acts of late. I've not seen any announcements as to who is performing.

Our family has sure enjoyed those 'washed up' bands for many years!

So did I, and it appeals to the average member demographic I think. However, for attracting younger people, the newer bands, even if lesser well know, seem to be a good draw.

I'm all for the "Washed Up".

Give me washed up rock n' roll over old, contemporary or up-and-coming country any time! Blasphemous? So be it!

I am a User Experience Architect by trade (I work hard to make the interface between humans and computers as painless and delightful as possible, both on mobile and desktop experiences, usually in the ecommerce and internal website areas). Using that ticketing interface makes my brain bleed. The entire Oshkosh buying experience (camping, show tickets, the whole process) is Not Good. It needs a complete reworking. It would take time and money, but would ultimately result in a significantly higher conversion ratio (people that enter the process and actually spend the money).

So... just know that you aren't the only one.

You know honestly, I show up on Monday morning around 7am, stand in line for about 5 minutes and get my wristband for the week. I'm also able to buy any single day wristbands for any day at that time as well ( for my wife later in the week). It never seemed worth it to purchase online for a couple dollar difference. And there is a line to pick up your wristbands that you purchased online anyway!

I'm sure that putting on an event like AirVenture is extremely challenging. People come for all kind of reasons - some like washed up rock n roll, while other prefer country music(?). Some like F22's, B1's, and F18's, while others prefer WWI spotter aircraft. Some like building their own aircraft, while others shop for certificated aircraft accessories.

However, almost all of us purchase a ticket to get attend. EAA - get this right!

I tried again today to print the tickets, same problem, the page is dim and I can't click anything. I can not print anything out. When will we be able to the tickets? Last year I was able to print at the time of purchase.

Hi all, we're hoping the issue with printing tickets will be resolved soon. Please contact our member services department at 1-800-564-6322 or by email at membership@eaa.org if you have any additional questions about this issue and they may be able to give you an exact timeline as to when they expect it be resolved.

Like DRGT, I acknowledge that Airventure is a huge event to organise and host but this ticketing problem is unacceptable.

The EAA and the provider of ticket services should consider suspending sales until the problems are solved, or give purchasers info about the status of the ticketing system so they can decide whether to proceed with a purchase. I also cannot understand why the admission ticket is not issued as a pdf. In the event of a pet canine consuming the paper version, a new one can be printed from the saved file. Other ticket sellers employ this system, so why don't we?

Almost down to a hundred days to go and I'm very excited about the prospect of attending my third Oshkosh. Woohoo! :)

This year will be my first time visit, from the UK.
After numerous emails to customer web site of Etix/Extreme-tix and zero response (since February), I finally check this forum to learn there is an ongoing issue, and it isn't me or just my tickets.... Surprised no info can be seen whilst going through the purchase process, even now, about the issue.

+1 on Tom's comment - While I DO have empathy for the online website computer snafu, if all else fails over the next few months (unlikely) at least the 'primitive' way of just standing in line for a few minutes at the event remains..... you know, like our forefathers had to do - lol

Yes, but for folks like myself, we already paid! Wonder how this is going work out.

Hey everyone, it sounds like this situation should be resolved sometime next week. Everyone who ordered their tickets will be notified via email that their tickets will be available to print.

+2 on Tom and Randy, Could never understand why tickets needed so early. Never had a problem on line. Took about 10 minutes max and was good to go.

Took a look today in the Extremetixweb site to see if my tickets are available for printing, saw a notice that prepurchased accounts have been moved, and an email will go out with the new conformation link. Have yet to receive this email, anyone else received it yet?

I have attended Airventure each year for 35 years. I have never bought a ticket 3 months in advance, nor have I had to buy them on line of use a computer to do so. I go to the window and there they are. Am I missing out on some great technology thrill.?

Nope, back when I paid to get in, I just bought everything (tickets, camping, program, even renewed my EAA membership) all with the nice ladies in the booth. They even looked up my EAA number for me.

To me, it's not a good idea to buy the tickets (flight line passes and such) in advance of the start of the event. Since these are non-refundable, you would lose the money if something came up that didn't allow you to attend. The few dollars saved are, at least to me, not worth it. I've never had to stand in line very long to buy the tickets on site..........

I suspect that some folks who buy in advance online are first time recent visitors to AirVenture. Most pics of the event DO show massive crowds and if you haven't experienced the walk-up ticket shacks you could easily envision Disney-ride type long lines to get in to the place. The ticket stalls I've passed all seemed to have relatively short lines and it was a pretty quick process to get your wristband.

I’m a long time attendee, just like the convenience of having pre-paid tickets. But this experience has proved this false. Just wanted to see if others were experiencing the same problem.

It could be that their also arriving much later in the day. Not at 7am like some us!

Yep... I saw pics of crowds and know that usually means long lines waiting for tickets. So in this day and age advance ticket sales through an event website suggest that it would be prudent to NOT show up without tickets in hand... you know, “be part of the solution, not part of the problem” kinda thing.

After acting on the “aforementioned”... I can’t print my tickets either and have received no email either.

Oshkosh doesn't run on "tickets," so this is the fallacy. It's not like a ball game where they just scan your ticket to validate it. All you're doing is prepaying. It still has to be turned into a wristband once you get to the field.

Let's just keep it that way. The system isn't broke and it doesn't need fixing except for the prepay thing which should be discontinued.

Well, I was never actually enamored with the wristbands. I remember the old weekly tickets you could have made into buttons, but the EAA got a burr up their posterior about the concept that someone might transfer their weekly pass to another but I'm not sure the wristbands solve that. Especially, the fact that the past few years there's been a marked decrease in quality on the weekly bands and I've had to add tape to them to hold them together anyhow.

This pretty much sums it all up. One way or another, you're going to have to stand in line and walk up to a booth to get a wristband at the convention site.

Also unlike a ball game, this event can't sell out of tickets.

I wonder if EAA has a limit on how many they can sell? Like a number dictated by the Fire Marshall or something?

I believe the Oshkosh Fire Marshall has determined that 375,000 guests on the grounds at one time each day is the maximum safety limit..........I could be mistaken.
