I purchased an open-cockpit ultralight that I need to move from Virginia to Iowa. The aircraft is not designed for cross country, especially during this time of year, so I am looking for someone to haul it for me. Can anyone give me some recommendations?

What is it?
I went to California from OKC to get my RV9A. I have an enclosed trailer.
It might would be a fun trip.

Partain Trucking ships a lot of RVs. It's not cheap at all. I had to move an RV-7 project about 1100 miles (Butte, MT to Omaha, NE). It worked out that renting an enclosed U-Haul trailer and driving round trip, with a night in a hotel and meals for myself and two others (son and his friend) cost about half as much. That's the only direct experience I have. I wouldn't leave it to anyone who didn't have airplane-specific knowledge.

Go to Barnstormers and click on Search Ads on the home page. Then look for the Quick Search bar at the top of the page. If you then type "aircraft transport" and "aircraft ground delivery" you will find some aircraft specific transport companies that do what you want. Easy peasy.
