No, tail is all wrong as is the cockpit for the Pitcairn. This looks like a conventional airplane of some sort (minus the wings).

Sitting outside for how long? I'd venture a guess... I don't know what it once was, but now it looks suspiciously like ex-airplane scrap.

Wheels? What wheels? There is no gear or wheels in the pic. There is a tail wheel though.

It does have wide wheels.
Wife is visiting her parents in Indiana, and sent me another pic.
Im new to the EAA forums. I think I'm posting pics properly, but it's fighting me.

I think RonW has a pretty good guess. I think it's an Ace D, from the tail (some of the other models have a round tail).

I vote for a one-off.

Based on the flat sides and square corners, it looks metal skinned. Might can find out what it is through the FAA registry.

Some resemblance to a Baby Ace but more differences than similarities.

Fuselage looks Baby Aceish, but gear looks spring steel on the farm pic vs this Ace.
FAA search for the blurry number on the tail (N6379?) says 1974 Bowling X-Wind.
No hits in the inter-web on that.
