Google Maps

If you look at the present satellite picture of Google maps, it's when Airventure is active. I went searching for our camper and it's not there. So we camped the last 3 years. Looking at the flight line, looks like it might be during the airshow. I notice in front of the Hondajet pavillion, there are lots of long EZs. Anyone know what year this was?

I am reasonably certain that is from 2011. My airplane partner and I flew in with the Cessnas 2 Oshkosh group that year, and I can still find our plane in that satellite picture. Interesting to note, though, I only see that picture on the mobile version of Google Maps, when I look at it on the web, there is a newer photo.

It was the year to celebrate Rutan designs. See them on Boeing Square.

The newest I could find on Google Earth was Airventure for 2012. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

They use different years depending on the zoom you use sometimes.

Yes, guess I should say I am using the Android Maps app. Doesn't change no matter how I zoom it....

It was the year to celebrate Rutan designs. See them on Boeing Square.So that was 2015. I also noticed there is a taxiway in front of the Hondajet pavillion. I know that's been gone for a while.

If you bring up Google Earth (rather than Maps), you'll find the date displayed (and you can get older shots as well).

So that was 2015. I also noticed there is a taxiway in front of the Hondajet pavillion. I know that's been gone for a while.

If you bring up Google Earth (rather than Maps), you'll find the date displayed (and you can get older shots as well).Kind of a pain since I needed to install Google Earth Pro on my laptop. But thanks FlyinRon, answer was 2011. I missed that year due to surgery....

That figures, I couldn’t spot my plane, or my tent and 2011 was the only year I missed in the last 10 years.
