View Full Version : Drilled Rivet Debris

I picked up a partially built Renegade Spirit aluminum tube fuselage and I'm reworking a few areas (some damaged over time while the kit sat and others just not quite right). What I'm running into is that some of the rivets I'm drilling out are attached to tubing that is closed off on both ends, so a small piece of each Avex I drill is going to be inside the truss members forever.

Anyone have an opinion if this is a problem? I can see the little balls sitting in there acting like sand paper as they vibrate, but I hate to drill a bunch of 1/4" holes at the base of the truss members to let them fall out.

Thanks
Phil

They will keep the insides of the tubes clean... ;)

I have some rivet debris floating around in the airframe of my Fokker D.VII semi-replica. I don't worry about it.

If you get enough they can act as audible turn and bank indicators! :)
