A pilots decisions during flight planning can mean the flight is safe, risky or down right dangerous. This video describes some of the online resources and Apps I and many other pilots utilise to make those important informed decisions. Some of these resources are not available to non-pilots, but many of them are!

Very neat video for us low and slow guys.

Because my aircraft pretty much gets flown like an ultralight, I've found that weather.com (I'm in the USA) is pretty much dead on the money. It shows winds below 5,000 feet and the hourly forecast hasn't been wrong by too much yet.

I still use the "golf rule" on my decisions. If I don't think I'd enjoy carrying a bag for 18 holes on a golf course I won't fly over one.
