We would be interested in knowing how much interest there would be in starting a separate maintenance forum on the EAAForums.org site. If there is significant interest, we may be able to persuade the powers-that-be at EAA to set one up. I have already offered to help moderate such a forum. Do you think this is a worthwhile idea, or are you getting all the maintenance-related help you need here in Hangar Talk? --Mike

I say yes, as there are more built planes out flying than there than ones being built!

Indeed, I've found loads of help in building my aircraft, but it seems once a homebuilt is signed off and in the air there's a lot of cricket noises and suddenly everyone is afraid to give advice.

Absolutly - Acommon place to exchange maintenance issue is the main reason I use forums.

Terrific idea Mike. Look forward to your input on several subjects that seem to have developed some weird theories!

Sounds like a good place for us old A&P types to hang out.

With your Avatar of a Tripehound I must wonder...just how old will these "old" A&P types be???

Absolutely!- if nothing else a place to share "how to's" with a maintenance slant

Thanks for all your feedback, everyone. Looks like Hal Bryan (EAA Online Community Manager) is convinced. He tells me that we can look for a new maintenance forum (name yet to be determined) to be up on the EAAForums.org site sometime next week. I look forward to participating. --Mike

Thanks to everyone, especially Mike, for making your opinions known. We'll be talking about a lot of the other suggestions for new forums, and maybe doing a little bit of reorganization over the next few weeks, but this one was such a no-brainer that I didn't see any reason to wait.
