Last night was a big one in the Ken Burns series on Vietnam. Flying wise it showed a lot of helicopter use, and bombing the North, but the big story was the infiltration and Tet offensive , The war seemed to be getting to a climax then, but the sad fact that no one knew then is that hostilities would go on 7 more years and have 27,000 more U S fatalities and who knows how many Vietnamese. It is hard to watch , but is so well presented that Ive learned a lot, even though I though I thought I knew much about it. I was finishing college that next year and headed to the Air Force after that. Our bombing was cut back for awhile and got negotiaons started but no peace for years. LBJ left office. Its on PBS for the rest of this week.We have a couple of guys on this forum that were there.
