Miss America Flight

I saw a recent article about a contestant in the Miss America pageant flying to the contest in her private plane. She is Miss Vermont and it showed a photo of her at the controls of what appreared to be a single engine Piper, looks similar to the cockpit that I learned in.

I saw that too -- that's the kind of thing I love to see. We had a Young Eagles rally yesterday, coinciding with the annual harvest festival in Plattsmouth, NE (http://www.plattsmouthharvestfestival.com/Home.html). We always get a pretty good turnout. This year it looks like we might get a little more publicity after the fact, as the Queen got a ride in a couple of the planes that were there for the YE rally. Plenty of pictures for the local paper of course. It's always good for people to see that "regular people" can and do participate in aviation.
