Cool videos. The An-2 segment featuring a conversion to a high wing monoplane with the Czech Walter M-601 turboprop engine was particularly interesting.

Yea, it's a shame that they won't let them fly in the USA, I'd love to score a ride in that behemoth.
Can you imagine one of those on floats? Talk about a fishing adventure for the ages!
Maybe EAA could showcase them some year at Airventure, (hint,hint,hint);)

I've seen one occasionally parked on the ramp at Livermore (KLVK), and you're right; they are behemoths.

Why do you think they can't fly in the U.S.? Granted most are Experimental - Exhibition category with operating limitations, but they can still fly here.

Everything I've found says only in exhibition category. I'll bet the skydiver groups would love them.
