I have an experimental V-twin Honda four stroke ultralight engine conversion with prop to display at Airventure.
Wondering how to display it. I am an experimenter, not a vendor. No interest in selling anything.

I thought of setting it on a stand with a sign near the ultralight area and sit and talk to anyone interested. It could be run to make noise without the prop.

Any rules or suggestions about displaying a small engine?

Set it up in the 24 hour generator section in Camp Scholler.:D

Folks do put up "displays" in Scholler with banners and everything.

Go to the Airventure web site and contact them. You may do better to call and get transferred however many times it takes until you find the right person. Or, send an e-mail request for information on what you would like to do. I saw one of these engines on a one off homebuilt several years. The guy had some of his buddies bump up the hp but at that time it hadn't flown. Sounded good and his design was pretty good I thought. Have you done any videos of what you've got?

I made a video with the iPad. No easy way to post, but here is screen shot of it running.

I sent a message to EAA to see if they want me to bring it for an engine Workshop forum. Or ultralight forum. Seems the EAA thing to do.

Hi Bill did you use one of the new Honda 690cc engines with the one piece cylinder and head? I would think the UL area and without a prop for safety reasons would be doable. Call EAA and be persistent.

My engine is older GX670. Separate head, I think.
I am waiting for a reply from EAA about a tent forum at UL area.

Here you go. http://www.culverprops.com/big-twin.php there are videos as well.

Had a member of the FisherFlyingProducts use-group conduct a conversion with "generic" engine.

Isn't the Valley Engineering (Culver Props) twin based on a 990 cc Generac engine not a Honda?

Correct.
My Honda is smaller and direct drive. More of a challenge to fly on low power!

I am planning to display my Honda V-twin at the Ultralight Tech Counselor Tent (next to forum tent near Ultralight Barn)
I will post a sign to indicate a meeting time for any questions, perhaps 7:30 pm, just before the 8:00 pm Ultralight Twilight Fest.
