Just saw a factory Sonex landed gear up (according to the FAA). I hope this fine companies bad luck ends soon.

Sonex web page says 2,500 foot landing distance.
Probably less, in the picture above....

Ouch!!
i've never flown a retractable, but why us it that that one little switch causes so many problems?
My Garmin 696 alerts me of "Five Hundred" at every landing.
If I had a retractible I'd want it to say "Check Gear" at 700 feet!
it is amazing that the feature isn't on every retractable today.
