:D Wheels up tomorrow morning, Sat. July 18, 8:00am. Toronto direct Green Bay.

For the first time in 4 years the weather is finally favouring us with the direct route over Lakes Huron and Michigan. In the past few years because of crappy weather we've either had to take the northern or southern routes which are much longer and have involved a couple of overnight stays.

The direct route will take 3.2 hours.

To all flying out this weekend, I wish you blue skies and a safe and uneventful trip.

Well......not exactly!! The weather changed as it so often does and we screwed the pooch on going direct.

Took a southerly direction along Lake Erie, landing at Leamington to wait for a line of thunderstorms to clear over Toledo. Off to Toledo Express where we cleared customs and got a new weather briefing which was basically flying a route that was north and northwest through Michigan keeping away from a number of building cells. Having NEXRAD and Stormscope on board is just fantastic on days like today keeping you out of harms way. We were VFR on top for a while and by the time we got to Manistee, it was unlimited ceiling and viz, climbed to 10,000 ft. and crossed Lake Michigan direct Green Bay. Flying time: 4.6 hrs. Longer than originally planned for but the main thing is we're here (whoopee)and drive to Osh tomorrow for an easy Sunday stroll on the grounds and trade in our paper ticket for a weekly wrist band.

I'm sure we'll see all of you during the week. Monday morning at 10am I'll be at the Icon exhibit watching the momentous hand over of the first customer delivery. Over the years on the Forum I said these guys and this amphib were for real and that this day would come. Come on over and don't forget to say "hi".
