p.s. Turn your speaker volume down. The music is very loud.

It just go's to show you what kind of performance you can get if you keep it light and don't add all that dead weight to your planes.

Finally a way to get first class service carts for us in the back of the plane.

And at the same time, fix that pesky problem with stuck doors in the aft lavs.....

Yep, is pretty weird walking on board something that side and coming face to face with this:

Yes, a lot of people don't realize that airliners spend part of their lives in the Experimental category:

If you look at the video, you'll notice the Vietnam Airlines airplane has a white box with black letters on the fuselage just forward of the tail. I'm guessing that's a temporary US N-Number for use during flight test. Underneath it is probably the Vietnamese registration number.

My other favorite Boeing story was when they delivered the first 777 to the old tulip United, they showed it on video. They use the exact same FAA temporary registration and bill of sale forms that we use for small planes. They had guys simultaneously at the banks involved, Joklahoma City, and the delivery point to do the transaction. The guy rips the "carbon" off the registration form and tells someone to "run out and stick this in the aircraft."

Here's a video by Boeing of the actual display at Paris, including ground shots of the steep takeoff. Looks to be about 55 degrees or so.

At least the music's better. :-)

This video includes cockpit view. Looks like 30 degrees nose up.

When I first read the headline at yahoo... I thought , this should be cool...

After watching it , I thought "Big Deal" It looks like the maneuver I did getting my Private...

Basically , Clearing a 50 ft Obstacle... Watch the Airspeed... Put up sharp , then Push it over...

I thought this Jet was going to Climb out..... But it just pushed over....

I bet they held EXTRA ground speed for the "STUNT"....

That's all I'll call this.... a Stunt

There was a chase aircraft (of some sort). They also had two cameras in the cockpit and one mounted somewhere else on the plane looking forward.

A helicopter hovering over the runway with a camera, long lens. Cockpit view of the panel looks like 30 degrees nose up at the max after rotation.
