I am aware that Sunday July 19 is just an arrival day for aircraft and if you pay for Monday there is no charge for Sunday. Is this just for campers and people who fly in or can you drive it and do this? Are any trams or buses running on Sunday and are there any food places open?

I am usually busy volunteering on the grounds that day, but I think pretty much yes to all your questions. Not sure about the trams, but i think I recall them running on Sunday.

Most definitely you can drive in, buy or wear your wristband and basically hit everything except hangars A-D. You don't even have to pay to park (well, they haven't in past years...).

In the past food is hit or miss. The Tall Pines was open on Sunday last year. Many food stands were not open yet. Shuttles were running, so you can always grab something local.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking of leaving Detroit about 2 am so that should give me a good part of the day to wander around. I like to take photos of the warbirds so I should be able to get some without too many people in the way.

He is driving in! MEdwards must be referring to the other NOTAM--Notice To All Motorists. :-)

I read that one too. But, looks like you're right. He is indeed driving in. My misteak.

Yes I'm driving. I'm hoping hitting Chicago early on a Sunday morning will mean less traffic. I love everything about going to Oshkosh except for driving thru Chicago.

You could take the ferry from Muskegon

Sunday admission is contingent on having a Monday (or weekly) wristband. Sunday should show most of the food operations open if I recall properly. Prior to that, the gates are largely wide open (no wrist band required) and the food operations open at various times. Vintage attempts to make up some of the slack with their Tall Pines Cafe. Volunteer food is generally available (if you are volunteering).

Note that camping sites must be paid during this time even when admission isn't necessary.

Or from Ludington to Manitowoc.
