If you're registered as a non-profit organization, you may consider soliciting donations for a particular project or goal.
I know a lot of EAA members are into their retirement, but for those working, some companies will match employee donations.

Last week, catered, sit-down diner with a live band and a silent auction. Tickets, available only in advance, covered the cost of catering and the band, plus a little profit. Ladies volunteered to decorate tables in a competition, and they were very creative. Ladies donated bake sale items. Members donated items to auction.

Good fun, good music, good food, good friends, good profit.

Chapter 52 has had 8 pancake breakfasts ( yes, not new) but added a raffle to the mix through efforts/support of members who donate items. It has doubled our revenue and added interest in the breakfast - prior was to eat and leave. We are looking at adding an educational component for 2016. May of our members have reached the age where driving at night is an issue for them and we only see them at the breakfasts. We have started to offer rides to those that want to be at an evening meeting and will extend that to the daytime activities as well.
