Hey Hal et al,

I tried to look up a Hints video and all I get is an error message. So being me I took a screen shot of it. Here you go!

Using firefox and I get the same screen you post. The site must have been hacked.

Probably not hacked, just broken. Newtonsoft is a pretty popular adjunct to windows servers. It appears the disk just filled up for some reason to the point where the software can't run correctly anymore. Give them some time to get back from the holiday weekend to fix it.

I'm not convinced that that article describes the problem the site is seeing.

One of our servers is having an issue that's affected EAAVideo.org and one or two other services - our IT folks are looking into it now.

Looks like it is up tonight, thanks to Hal and the (much less dashing but still important) IT folks.

Thanks, Jim, but I was just the (admittedly charming, handsome and erudite) messenger. My job consisted of saying "Someone sez the Internet is busted", and the people who know what they're doing took it from there. ;)

:D Where would we be without messengers? BTW, H&P? I'm actually going to be there, got my ticket for the whole shebang!

Are the EAAVideo servers down again? I was able to access them last week. This week, however, no joy. YouTube videos work fine. My browser is IE 11.0 Any recommendations?

Works for me.

I thought that it might be my PC. I just get a gray screen, then it times out. No error message or anything. I might try to restore last week's config and see if that helps. Maybe Windows Update did something.

Let us know how it goes, Bud - I'm not seeing any issues here.

No Joy. Just tried to load the latest 'Hints for Homebuilders' video and still just a gray screen. I didn't bother restoring anything since its only the EAA videos that seems to be the problem. What video format does EAA use and why is it different than Youtube, Vimeo,....?

It's a flash player streamed by brightcove. It works fine for me. Are you using an iOS device?

I still don't see any issues on this end, Bud, and haven't seen any other reports from any other users. As Ron says, the player uses flash, but, as I understand it, falls back to HTML5 to support iOS (iPads, iPhones, etc.) I've never come across a device that couldn't play them.

Can you try a different browser - Chrome or Firefox? There's no reason it shouldn't work with IE, but it's worth a try.
