When the NTSB did its study on homebuilt safety a few years back, one of the things they wanted was for the builders or owners to generate Pilot Operating Handbooks.

I recently generated a template for Fly Baby owners to use to generate their own manuals. This template is in Microsoft Word, and could easily be edited to cover any similar small homebuilt.

For those who just want to browse through it, the PDF version is at:

Ron, you're reading my mind again.I came to the site tonight to ask if anyone had a template for a POH, as I'm just about to the point where I need to seriously start thinking about making one. This is a godsend, as it's easily converted to my Nieuport 11 with some tweaking.I may have to come up with a reason to visit my sister in Kent just so I can make a trip to give you a hug. And a beer. Probably the beer first.;)

In section 4.1 it says "The pilot should raise the nose early in the takeoff run..."I think you meant "tail" not "nose".

Maybe he needs to raise his nose to see over his nose ?

Before he raises the tail ?

Those of us who know about Ron already know he has a powered tail raiser! (Sorry Ron, I couldn't resist!)

Yes, but it raises my nose at the same time... :-)

While you are tweaking it, go to the Right wing tip to pull that wheel chock, not the Left one.

What a great effort though. I will use a lot of your ideas if you don't mind!
