Came into possession of a pre-release copy of Flying The Feathered Edge this week. For those unaware, it's an hour and a half long documentary of the life and times of the one and only Bob Hoover. It's scheduled for release in mid-November.
Finally had time to watch last night, and it definitely deserves the advance speculation that's out there about it. In one word...awesome!! The list of contributors is like a who's who in aviation (the Rutans, Clay Lacy, several astronauts/aces, and other huge aviation names). Some of the footage was shot at Oshkosh.
Much of it is old footage of military and airshow/Reno flying, and it's all put together around Harrison Ford, Sean Tucker, and Mr. Hoover sitting around a table chatting.
No idea on the particulars of release, but highly recommend it to anyone with even a passing interest in aviation. There's a web site.
Disclaimer.....I have no connection to the film, film-makers, or any of the people in the movie (other than a lot of hero-worship for the last folks).
