The Owls Head Transportation Museum, home to a world-class operating collection of pioneer-era aircraft and ground vehicles, is seeking a full-time Aircraft Conservator. The Aircraft Conservator will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the museum’s aircraft collection, managing aircraft shop volunteers and pilots, as well as interacting with members of the public on a daily basis. Known for its extensive schedule of seasonal special events that include antique aeroplane demonstrations, OHTM is a renowned year-round destination for visitors from near and far.

The desirable candidate will be an aircraft mechanic with an IA license. He will maintain 16 pre and post WWI-era aircraft in flying condition. A strong knowledge of aircraft fabric repair and recovering, strong mechanical skills and extensive experience with early engines are a necessity. A commercial pilot with class II medical and tailwheel time is preferred.
