From the Position Roles & Responsibilities list:

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with EAA's standard drink recipes.

EAA has standard drink recipes? Who knew? That's one thing the editors of the various EAA magazines have been behind on letting us know about.

Other than the Aviation Cocktail, (http://http://cold-glass.com/2010/06/23/aviation-cocktail/) what are they?
I would think since we're dealing with Wisconsin, that beer would be involved.

Just me but I thought Cheese would have been involved....coming from Wisconsin. But who would have known alcohol would be part of the EAA. I am not knocking it, I just did not know this.

It is actually a clever diversion tactic by management to keep termites away from the vintage and other wooden aircraft in and around the museum and Pioneer Airport.

We all know that termites will beat a path to hospitality and all will have the same question: Is the bartender here?

1. Put can of Schlitz on counter.
2. Pull Tab
3. Rotate can so opening is on customer's side.

"SUMMARYInitiates and implements best practices in customer service while working as an ambassador for Aviation. In addition, the position serves to cultivate an active interest in EAA as the premier venue for aviation, educational programming and as a gathering place for the community."

Are you kidding me?! Who wrote this crap. EAA endorses and/or equates the serving of booze in conjunction with an interest in EAA and the pursuit of aviation?!

"Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages."

Seriously? Again, who's kiddin' who? This has to be the most verbose and over indulgent job description for a simple Bartender role ever written. And it's just part-time! As long as I've been in the business world, I've always maintained that HR Departments will do and say anything to justify their existence.

Guys, Wisconsin consumes about half the brandy sold in the USA, if you can't make a brandy old fashioned you'll never get hired as a bartender in Wis!

Sometimes after a flight a cold drink is needed to wash away the trail dust.

I'm pretty sure their signature drink is the Skiles/Sullenberger Martini:

2 shots of Grey Goose & a splash of water...

I like you included both pilots in this. So many forget there was two pilots flying that airplane that day. Only one gets all the credit.

Here is a bartender at one of the NAA events (Collier award to the Dreamliner team) making the drink of the night, the "Dreamtini"

You are correct. Was registered in Nov/13 on the Cdn. registry. The owner lives 30mins north of me. Great plane, lucky guy.

I heard that when the 787 made marketing stops in Chile during this time frame some VERY smart experimental aircraft owners there noticed the placard. So they waited until the 787 left the country and filed a formal complaint that their "FAA" equivalent had authorized an EXPERIMENTAL aircraft to fly within their airspace even though they could not get authorization to fly their own experimental aircraft. With much "egg" on their face, their "FAA" backtracked and now Experimental aircraft are authorized to fly within Chilean airspace. A smart and savvy move if you ask me.
