San Marcos, TX (KHYI) all month! :-)

We squeezed $17-worth into the RV yesterday, had a great lunch, got our O2 tank refilled, and visited the CAF museum.

At $1/gallon, I'm saving $4.40 x 17 gallons -- so this is basically free flying!

Good news, bad news. The experiment was so popular they have to end it early. Last day is Oct. 15. They are pumping over 30 times their normal amount - basically as much as their 3 fuel trucks can handle. I've been there twice so far getting 60 gal with a 2 hr. wait the first time and 85 gal with a 1 1/2 hr wait the second.

This ought to get the alphabet groups to recalibrate their thinking on how much cost impacts the amount of flying. It should have been obvious. Those of us that spend our own bucks to fly could have told them that.

Great museum at San Marcos. Being a gear head I like to get up close to the work that's going on and the workers are friendly and don't chase you away. If I lived closer I'd be there helping out but only in Texas a few months out of the year. I hope they can keep it going.
