I finally got around to trying out our new scanner. I always said this would be the first photo scanned.
My Dad (a blimp pilot for the Navy) took this from the top of a blimp hanger (not sure what base or the year).
Let the warbird lovers begin to drool! Notice the Helldiver's way in the back.

Having done work in a hangar like that one, I can tell you its probably one of the following locations: MCAS Tustin, NAS Weeksville (Elizabeth City, NC) or NAS Tillamook Oregon

Any chance it was NAS/NAES Lakehurst? They have several pre WWII airship hangars.

It probably was Tillamook. But maybe Lopoc, CA? I don't believe it was Lakehurst. But then again he was stationed at all of them. He was also stationed at Santa Anna, CA.

Don't think so. The hangars at Lakehurst look different than those, I believe. In any case, if you've never been in one of those hangars, they are amazing.

KS, I was in the hangars at KNEL but it was over 30 years ago. When you are a kid, those hangars look REALLY big. I wasn't thinking of hangar 1 either, I know they had some later hangars that were arched.

Hangar #2 or 3 at Moffett ? There were alot of fighters stationed there back in the day.
You know, you might be right. I forgot that Dad was staioned there too. He pretty much was at all the blimp bases on both coasts thru the years. Sure wish he was here to clue us in!
