Found this short article in the paper the other day. Don't know if I should be shocked or merely say, "so what else is new?"

"More passengers are trying to walk through airport security with loaded guns in the U.S. In the first 6 months of 2013, screeners found 894 guns on passengers or in carry-on bags, a 30% increase over the same period last year. They set a record in May for most guns seized in one week--65 in all, 45 of them loaded with bullets. The previous record of 50 was set 2 weeks earlier."

Wonder how many guns are getting through security undetected? Cause for alarm?

This is coming from the higher numbers of people with CC permits. Yes, no one should 'forget' about their loaded gun in their bag. What is happening is they take their bag to the airport & forget about the gun. Most of the time there is no intent, still going to cause some problems.

I knew a guy who forgot about his personal carry gun going to the Atlanta Airport, pre 9-11 he was allowed to leave with it. Now that same incident will cause you some problems. That's carry 101, always know where your gun is at all times & know the local laws of where you're at. Stay away from NY too.
