Good For Us!! The Petition

I have have had the 'user fees petition' page in a tab in my browser since I signed it on the first day. I think it says a lot about 'us' that the numbers continue to grow slowly but steadily. From the initial rush of 'someone signed' it has evolved into more and more (mostly) constructive comments and criticisms from the signers. Almost every time I have refreshed the page...a few more. Debate over what else to do notwithstanding......Good for us as aviators and citizens!

To be clear, I specifically include Admin and staff at EAA for their continued efforts in the area. The frustration level has to be extraordinary.

Now...if we could just get started on the rest of this govn't mess... :)

and click the "Sign the Petition" button to send a letter to both of your state's senators.

I just noticed it says:
The letter closes for signatures at 12:00pm Eastern Time on Wednesday, June 5th.

But people are still signing, Is the Petition still active?
Now 19,814 Letters and Emails Sent So Far! That is about 10 minutes apart from the above tally.

Hi Folks,

I have just archived the Senate petition, as the letter went out the door yesterday morning (see here: http://www.eaa.org/news/2013/releases/2013-06-06_letter-to-faa-eaa-airventure.pdf). At the time it was put out to pasture, just a shade under 20,000 emails had been sent. Once again, we can't thank you enough. There will likely be another opportunity to show your support soon, and we will let you know when the time comes.
