Does anyone know of a good app for an ipad that can be usedto help record builder’s logs with photos?

Nothing iPad specific that I'm aware. You have to use your favorite blog or website.

I suggest setting up a free blog with Tumblr (http://www.tumblr.com/) and using their app (https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/tumblr/id305343404?mt=8). It's the simplest and cleanest of the blogging platforms -- especially for short, quick posts -- that still allows for some control over formatting. My Clutton FRED site below was created with Tumblr. Tumblr makes their money from the fancy premium "themes" that you can choose to buy but there are many, many nice free ones as well.
