Does anyone know if EAA is doing the ski plane fly in? I can only find information on the 2012 event which states it's annually however I can't find anything listing the dates for 2013. We would like to go.

With the holidays almost here and the weather turning colder by the day, now is the time to think about the upcoming Ski-Plane Fly In! This winter's event at Pioneer Airport is scheduled for January 19th, 2013. If you are interested in coming, please reply to this note. We welcome you to share this invite with others who may like to join us, and ask that each individual RSVP with an email.

Just as in past years those who RSVP will receive a briefing packet in mid-January. We will then review the briefing process via individual phone-call, as will be explained in your briefing packet. Ski operations at Pioneer depend on snow conditions, and so we’ll make the final determination of Pioneer’s runway viability on the Thursday prior to the event, January 17, 2013. If the snow cover is inadequate we will have all pilots land at Wittman field and provide van-service to the hangar festivities at Pioneer.

Last year’s weather cooperated with a Winter Wonderland at Pioneer Airport – let’s hope we can all enjoy some snow again in 2013!

Warm holiday wishes!

How do y'all hook the boat up to the plane to make it go on skis?
