Need to either explicitly approve members or at least put them in a hold from initial posting for a couple of days.
It will greatly decrease the SPAM potential. I'm admin on a couple of other VBulletin boards we have instituted this on.

I think you're right, Ron. I'll dig into that this morning.

I have a list of email addresses I could give you... ;)

Hal, I think if you don't do something you might need an assistant to watch the forum & hit the delete button. ;)

Hmm... I like the idea of an assistant... ;)
Anyway, we are setup now so that all new registrants have to be approved by me. That should help a lot, so we'll see how it goes. If any of you saw some spam that popped up about 2 hours ago, that was "someone" (or a bot) that signed up a couple of days ago, so that's not an immediate indictment of the new plan...

Hopefully those disgusting ads for Dallas Cowboys jerseys will be a thing of the past...

Deleted and banned, thanks to Matt G. who reported it first thing.
That account snuck in a few days ago, before the new approval process was in place. I'm happy to say this process prevented 12 new spammers from signing up overnight.
