There were so many calls to groups of Cubs using the Fist approach that I was a little confused as to what group the controllers were talking to. I never did see the beacon at Fisk. I may have been a little too far to the right of the tracks. It has been seven years since I last flew this approach in a Cessna 210. Things have changed on the ground and my slow ground speed threw me off a bit.

That’s my story and I am sticking to it.

Rick - This is pretty cool to watch. Thanks for taking the time to post it and show it to us non pilots.

Love your videos...always wondered what it looked like from inside a cub!

The Fisk beacon was a bit feeble this year. In years gone past, they have had either a large balloon, or, best yet, four ILS rabbit leadin lights stuck right next to one another (that one was HARD to miss). In addition, the "Tracon" was moved furhter off the tracks than I remember it in the past.

At least after years and years, the FAA finally put RIPON, FISKE, and WARBD in as real official intersections so they show up in most people's GPS's (Apollo always put RIPON in the database anyhow, while Garmin put completely useless things like the GARMIN headquarter's building...useful only I guess if you wanted to egg the place from the air).

Wow on the departing video. For 10am there are hardly any plane left!
