I took my two Poodles on a long cross county this weekend. (With my fireworks!)
For their first time flying, they did great. One was slightly nervous, the other had no issues whatsoever.

This guy is spoiled. He had one of the four air vents all to himself.
Sure... the other three were on me, but he still lives an easy life!

One more of the pups, this time with my wife.

The silver Poodle, Shelby, looks a bit concerned!

That's a sweet moment. Years ago I would take my 90 lb. Weimaraner flying with me a lot. I'd always place him in the right seat, sitting up and strapped in with the shoulder harness. He always seemed to enjoy himself though I'm sure he just thought he was in another car but wondering why I wouldn't roll down the window for him.

I have an 82 lb. Golden Doodle now(hybrid golden retriever/standard poodle) but have never taken him flying because, while he loves being in the car, he pants heavily so the window always needs to be open for him. I'm afraid that being in a plane would unnecessarily stress him out.

If you plan to fly your dogs a lot, you might consider hearing protection for them. They can suffer hearing damage just like people.

You are absolutely correct on this. Back in the day such pet protection products were not available as they are today. Putting the David Clarks on him was just not an option.

I'm not sure about the need for hearing protection... they never listen to me as it is!! http://images.corvetteforum.com/images/smilies/toetap05.gif
