Here's an article from several weeks ago about a British P-40 that crashed in the Sahara in 1942 and sat undiscovered until recently.

Notice that the comments following the article include a number of conspiracy theorists who believe the pictures are a Photoshop hoax. Any thoughts?

It was a sad way for a young man to lose his life. Wars are unforgiving and are often fought is hostile landscapes.

If it was hoaxed, whomever did it knew a lot more about plane crash dynamics and such than most Photoshop geeks.

It was a sad way for a young man to lose his life.

I second that opinion.

This is in Italian but will translate with Bing Translator. It's the whole story including the finding of the pilots remains.

Thanks for the follow-up, Ozzie. I guess that should put the Photoshop conspiracy theories to rest. Very sad to see that the plane has immediately been looted and vandalized. Hopefully there will be some way to identify the remains that were found. The young man deserves a proper burial in England.
