I have recently been told that the sign-off for a compliance inspection has changed in the wording. Does anyone have any idea what is the preferred sign-off returning the aircraft to service?

If you are referring to a homebuilt condition inspection, the language to use in the log entry is in the operating limitations. Otherwise, not sure what a compliance inspection is.
