For "Hanger Talkers",

You can download (free) a copy of the 2012 FAR/AIM book @ xxx.propilot.aero/FARAIMDownload.html. The xxx prefix to this address is only dependent on your operating system. For most of us, all it means is to use www there. I haven't finished the download so don't know the exact memory space requirement. If anyone is able to download directly to an iPad, please advise any procedural difference required vs. a standard PC. Spend the money saved on your woman (or man) as applies.

It's about 28.5MB.

Thanks for the memory space info. That much space should be available on most any PC or midsize iPad.

I used the GoodReader app to download the FAR/AIM to my iPad. GoodReader has its own browser within the app which is in the area labeled Web Downloads. Mighty nice of the ProPilot folks to make this available, saved me a few shekels. And thank you to Edgefly for telling us about it.
