I know that 2011 attendance totals for both folks and planes have been posted, but I haven't seen anything on the total number of campers. Did I miss it?

I would be curious too. It seemed like there were significantly more campers than in past years.
We were discussing this while camping there as well...we also thought that it has to be one of the largest gatherings (number of, and dollar-wise) of recreational vehicles throughout the year in the US.

At the Chapter Leaders breakfast on Saturday the 30th, Rod Hightower said something on the order of a 12% increase in the number of campers this year compared to last. Then he caveated it saying "reservations."
The official estimate is about 38,000 people camped at Camp Scholler. Up from last year, but not quite as large as 2009. Still a big year for campers!

That is way up from 2008 which IIRC was 37000 combined for all campsites : Scholler, HBC, Vintage, and North 40. In 2008 I don''t remember hardly anyone being close to the West edge of Scholler by Hwy 41, and this year it was pretty packed all the way out. We were in the 101 Woods, on the North Side (a couple of hundred yards South of the SOS Bros tent) and they opened an empty field to the West I think on the 28th or 29th for additional RV's.
